As you may have noticed, the number of pokemon showing IV/CP/Moveset stats has dropped significantly, even with the increased capacity of 30% for all areas.
This is directly due to Niantic’s new anti-cheat security measure that affected our scans earlier in the week. Unfortunately, the same “blinding”/”shadowbanning” has hit our level 30 accounts used to scan for the stats. For the time being, we have turned off encounters using our level 30 accounts.
Here are our numbers as tested on 5/25/2017 at 11:45 PM EDT:
Total Level 30 Accounts: 7,010
Total Level 30 Accounts Assigned to Hexes: 6,243
Total Level 30 Accounts Assigned that are Blinded: 4,080
Total Level 30 Accounts Assigned that are still good: 2,163
Total Level 30 Accounts Unassigned that are Blinded: 767
Total Level 30 Accounts Unassigned that are still good: 0
66% of our assigned level 30 accounts are shadow banned
100% of our level 30 reserves are shadow banned
This means we only have 2,163 accounts that are still available to scan, which is only 34% of what we were scanning with. That may sound like a lot, but given the scale at which we scan, that’s an extremely slow return rate for stats.
We are also predicting that even more level 30 accounts will be blinded/shadowbanned by the end of this week. There’s no guarantee on how long these accounts will last.
A lot of the top-notch developers in the PoGo dev community are heads down trying to figure out the pattern, but unfortunately, it is still too early to tell what causes these types of bans and if there is light at the end of the tunnel to prevent these bans.
With that said, there’s a lot of risk involved with continuing to scan with the remaining accounts. There’s even more risk involved with purchasing new level 30 accounts. This is my personal opinion; however, we will defer to the PGAN community to see what you would like.
Please participate in the following poll so we can make a decision on going forward with remaining level 30 accounts:
